The ambitious project of Five towers, 24 to 42 floors on a surface area of 39 092,8 square feet at Caudan will take off in 2014. A MICE village Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) will be set up at the estuary of Ruisseau des Créoles which can host a maximum of 5000 delegates.
The project, led by Jean Claude Baissac, the director of Uptown Development Company Ltd (UDCL) was recently presented to the authorities. The coincidence is that the the MICE village is located between two “Ghost village” of the City, Neotown and Jin Fei which remain stagnant.
The estuary of Ruisseau de Créoles, currently used for stationary purposes will soon consist of five towers including one dedicated for offices. The other towers will consist of hotels: Designer Hotel, Luxurious Hotel, Convention Hotel and a Service-hotel Apartment. All the hotel will be surrounded by a conference centre which will host seminars. The project will also consist of a gallery, a commercial centre, an entertainment Hub and public spaces.
During the presentation of the project, the promoter indicated hiring the service of Singaporean consultants, CNSG. CommerceNet Singapore will act as the Project Manager and will also develop a Master Plan, organise road shows to promote and attract investors.
The design of the MICE village will respect sustainable development in Mauritius , and will be in accordance to the ‘Maurice île durable’ concept. Photovoltaic panels will be installed and rainwater will be used. The promoter is expecting the start to start in 2014, once all the authorizations are obtained.
