Charlotte Holmes was crowned Miss England 2012 on Thursday after beating 59 other competitors in a glitzy final.
Charlotte Holmes and other runner ups are already on their way to Mauritius. She will be here on Saturday night at La Pirogue for a special evening “Beauty Queen on the Beach” along with Miss England 2011, Miss India 2011, Miss Réunion 2011 and Miss Brazil 2011.
The election of Charlotte Holmes caught the attention of the Britain press, like every year.
The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) sponsored the event this year and had maximum exposure, some experts stated that it was “the best branding operation carried out by a destination” in this election.
The MTPA is committed to “Miss England” in its “celebrity marketing” strategy to reposition Mauritius on this key market.
Well what is more special about the winner of Miss England 2012 is that she also has Mauritian roots.
Charlotte said: “My gran, who’s 92, is Mauritian and my dad’s half half-Mauritian. There’s a lot of family history for me there.”
