Queen Elizabeth College

Mei Sien Choong Kam Chong, Urvashee Gokhool, Massirah Mehtaab Bhurtun, Juveryah Jawaheer, Priyanka Ramphul and Nuvneet Lutchoomun are the eight laureates at the Queen Elizabeth College. Ruby Ramloll, the Principal of Queen Elizabeth College stated that she is proud of the performance of the students despite that there are fewer laureates than last year. However Mrs.Ruby Ramloll is not satisfied with the GP ( General Paper ) results of the students.
She also highlighted that some of the students have studied in other colleges such as at the Loreto College Curepipe, Vacoas SSS, Sodnac SSS, Hindu Girls, Renganaden Seeneevassen SSS and France Boyer de la Giroday SSS.

Mélanie Lai Wai, Laureate at the Loreto College of Port Louis

Mélanie Lai Wai is laureate in the science side for the Loreto College of Port Louis. This inhabitant of Baie-duTombeau said that she worked hard as from Lower Six. ” I need 8-hours sleep otherwise i am unable to study properly”. Perfect in college, Mélanie Lai Wai is also a very good swimmer and she loves reading.

The laureate spends a lot of time on Facebook and youtube and sometimes goes to the restaurant with her friends. She also does a lot research on Google. Mélanie Lai Wai who was in her first attempt would like to study Mathematics in England or in the USA and then work in the finance or assurance afterwards.

Yogesh Koomar Jagessur, Laureate at the Adolphe de Plevitz SSS in Grand-Baie

19-year-old Yogesh Koomar Jagessur finds it hard to believe that he is the first laureate of Adolphe de Plevitz SSS.
” I studied hard to be successful, You must believe in your dreams”, he said. His father Satish Jagessur who is an English teacher at the Cosmopolitan College is extremely happy.

” I did not go to another college. I feel at home here and the Adolphe de Plevitz SSS is my second home since the Form 1. I am thankful to my teachers who helped me a lot and to the rector Siwan Ramjuttun who believed in me.

Yogesh Koomar Jagessur is a fan of PlayStation, Harry Potter and the books of Jules Verne. According to this brilliant boy, success relies on hard work done with love and dedication and to always aim high.

Adolphe de Plevitz SSS
The Adolphe de Plevitz SSS has registered a pass rate of 93.3% for the 2011 SC examinations and a 85.58% pass rate for the HSC. This college was prevously known as Royal Grand Baie before changing the name in 1995 to become Adolphe de Plevitz SSS.

Raamandarsingh Purmah, laureate at the MGI

Raamandarsingh Purmah is the only laureate at the MGI, he excelled in the Arts side. Munisami Davissen, Hamritte Parikshit, Jhugur Sandesh, Subdurally Ibrahim Javed, Awatar Dooshweeena et Lowtun Rudrani Devi are the other students who did very well for the HSC examinations.

The only laureate of the MGI college said he worked very hard and he had to drink coffee at night to remain awake.
