Olympics 2012: MCB launches promotional campaign

The countdown timer installed at Trafalgar Square indicates that there remains 70 days before the opening of the Olympic Games in London.

However, in Mauritius, the games are already open since MCB has partnered with Visa, official sponsor of London 2012, to officially launch its promotional campaign Special Olympics.
Holders of MCB Visa cards get a chance to win two trips, free of cost, to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in London as well as a LED 3D TV of 50 inches.

London Destination
From 17 May to July 5, 2012, every client will get a chance to win one of the two trips for two people to attend the opening ceremony. Each Rs 200 spent on the MCB Visa card will give the customer a chance to participate in the draw.
The opening ceremony, which will take place at the brand new Olympic Stadium in London on 27 July, will be seen by more than four billion of viewers around the world. Each winner will receive two plane tickets of Mauritius-London-Mauritius, accommodation, transfers, entrance tickets and pocket money.

A grandiose ceremony
The MCB winners, on the other hand, will benefit from a front row seat to watch the opening ceremony which promises to be amazing. The show will be directed by Danny Boyle, the director of Slumdog Millionaire (film that won four Golden Globes, seven BAFTA awards and eight Oscars in 2009), and will be attended by 15,000 people.
The ceremonial part will be marked by the parade of athletes, the arrival of the Olympic flame, the lighting of the Olympic cauldron, and the speech of the Queen of England among others.

A worldwide event
Genuine global event, the Olympic Games will welcome representatives from 205 countries. In London, more than 10,000 athletes will compete in 26 sports disciplines enrolled in the program. In addition to the 10.8 million of ticket holders (for 80 million requests), around 5 billion people will follow these games on television.

Olympic Games special card
To appropriately commemorate the Olympic Games in London, the MCB also launches a special MCB Visa card in limited edition. It boasts the emblematic Tower Bridge in addition to the official logo of the games. This card is available from today and till the end of the Olympic Games in August.

3D TV
MCB Visa card holders may also win a LED 3D TV of 50 inches. Each Rs 200 spent on a MCB Visa card from 17 May to 12 August is equivalent to a chance to win this latest TV.
