Pitbull Attacks Plaine Verte Resident On Grand Baie Beach

Ahmed D had the scariest day of his life yesterday. This resident of Plaine-Verte says he was attacked by a ferocious dog which he thinks is a Pit bull on the public beach of Grand-Baie.

Ahmed was walking on the beach when a ferocious dog come out of nowhere to attack him. It immediately jumped on the poor man. The Plaine Verte resident was shocked and did not know how to react. Finally he threw himself in the water but the animal followed him, he had to throw water on the dog for it to run away.

According to the Mauritius Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), the importation of dangerous dogs such as pitbulls and rottweilers is prohibited in Mauritius since last year after two pedigreed dogs (one rottweiler and a German Shepard ) attacked two children in the North of the island.
