Sergeant, Constable fight for Female officer outside Police Station

Scandals involving the Mauritius Police Force are far from over. After the married police officer who was caught in bed with his female colleague by his mother-in-law last March, the latest one is a passionate love triangle involving a Sergeant, a Police Constable and a female police constable. This love story is the “talk of the town” at the Curepipe Police Station since Monday and is a disgrace to the Mauritius Police Force.
On Sunday at about 22:30, the female police officer, Reshma (Fictitious name) planned to meet Suraj (Fictitious name) who is also a constable in Curepipe. Although he was not working on that day, he came to fetch Reshma who resides in a village of the South.
But as it usually happens in movies, Roshan ( Fictitious name), a Quatre Bornes Police sergeant and former lover of Reshma was also waiting for her outside the Police Station during that night.
Burning with jealousy, the Police sergeant could not digest the fact his ex lover and the police constable are together.
After a heated argument, a fight broke out between the two officers near the Curepipe Police Station resulting in the windscreen of the constable’s car being smashed by the Sergeant. The PC filed a police complaint against the Sergeant in the early hours of Monday.
The sergeant even went to Reshma’s house during that night. The young police constable made it clear to the sergeant that their relationship is over. But as the sergeant was not in a state to understand, Reshma has no choice than to go to the police station of the locality to seek help. On her way, the Sergeant called her and said “Tone ruine mo la vie, mo pe brule to lakaz!”. A couple of minutes later, the officers got a call of a person alerting them of fire breakout at the female officer’s house. Fortunately, the fire was brought under control by volunteers.
The three officers gave different versions on this incident. The sergeant alleged that on Thursday night he came to fetch Reshma when he was beaten by Suraj. He said that he went to the hospital to receive necessary treatments and has the left hand plastered.
A police investigation is underway.
