You are at La Pirogue, on the western coast of Mauritius. From 25 June to July 5, 2012, the most typical hotel of Mauritius welcomes a troupe of the Rio Carnival coming specially to animate the “Iles Vanille” Carnival of Flic-en-Flac, an event that promises to thrill the crowds. The “Iles Vanille” Carnival of Flic en Flac is an initiative of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, in collaboration with the IRT and the Tourism Office of Seychelles.
The “Iles Vanille” Carnival is a key component of the Mauritius Shopping Fiesta 2012 and is expected to mark the tourist season. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of the Mauritian culture and the wealth of inter-island trade,” said Robert Desvaux, president of the Tourism Office of Mauritius. The Mauritius Shopping Fiesta, starting from 29 June to 5 August 2012, will transform Mauritius into a paradise for shopaholics. During this period, the shopping centers of the island, the luxury stores, crafts, many tour and leisure operators will offer several discounts and special offers.

The “Iles Vanille” Carnival will gather more than 500 Mauritian artists and a hundred of international ones, including those of the Paris Carnival and the Rio Carnival. Several artists from the Indian Ocean will also be present. On Sunday, 1 July 2012, artists, hotels, tour operators and other companies will parade on the coastal road of Flic en Flac.
“At La Pirogue, we will pompously celebrate the “Iles Vanille” Carnival,” announced proudly Alessandro Cabella, the General Director. On the program: buffets and theme dinners, Rio Carnival troupe performances, handicraft markets and especially ultra-competitive rates for those wishing to reside in the hotel.
“La Pirogue will also welcome, from 25 June to July 5, 2012, beauty queens from Brazil, England, Lebanon, India and also Marie Payet, Miss Reunion 2011.
