965,441 tourists visited Mauritius in 2012 compared to 964,642 in 2011 accounting for 799 more tourists. The figure represents a slight increase of 0.1%.

48,949 less tourists visited the island from Europe which is a decrease from 63.2% in 2011 to 58.1% last year. The African market market accounts for 27.5% of total tourist arrivals in 2012 compared to 24% in 2011
